About Rajasee Das

I am a Clinical Psychologist designated as Counsellor of University Counselling Centre, at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur since March 2011. My work is broadly located at the interface of Student Well being and application of psychological principles to promote the same, particularly with reference to handling depression and other mental health threats to combat youth suicide. For last three years, I have been engaged in understanding young adults and immense opportunities and significant threats associated to this special age group. I conducted several workshops and personality development sessions on campus on Self esteem, Empathy and active listening along with individual short term and long term psychotherapy with students visiting our centre. My M.Phil dissertation explored PERSONALITY AND INTERPERSONAL CORRELATES OF BORDERLINE SYMPTOMS IN BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER (BPD) where primarily I worked with young adult individuals with above disorder. My research interests are college mental health, Indian psychology and its deployment in treating different psychological conditions defined by western psychology, qualitative methods and its application in college mental health interventions, alternate paradigms other than clinical psychology such as positive psychology and its efficacy for human resource development. I love to keep my self up to date regarding new advancements and use of technology in the field of Mental health. I believe myself as fortunate enough to be a mental Health Professional as my path leads to peace, compassion, empathy and fulfilment in my personal journey of life through my work.
