Life Principle: Build long-term relationships with high-grade people/businesses while avoiding unnecessary turnover. COC (Circle Of Competence): Setting up Global Capability Centres (GCCs) with experience within Insurance/ Financial Services Industry across the USA,Australia, LatAm & Asia (Now leading transformation using AI within Insurance Operations & Reskilling). Being a student & with a curious mind to learn, I am developing a solid foundational understanding of Insurance, Capital Allocation & Technology bottom-up. Since it is an ocean to drink, I continue to learn basics at the foundational level daily to 'think clearly' & stay with proven concepts. The thought is that things are interconnected & a multi-discipline approach will be more critical as we design companies & technologies that can be trusted. Intelligence alone won't ensure success, as having the right temperament and a bit of luck will also play a significant role. Being patient, disciplined, independent thinker & eager to learn along with the ability to direct emotions in the right direction with humility & room for error. These traits are more of a personality than of the brain. The focus of my life is avoiding stupidity & not running after esoteric stories, trying to be intelligent, or weaving narratives that force a link of cause & effect when none exists. Life is shaped by a few significant events, not over-confidence, and predicting the future is difficult. The best business is the one that does well for customers, employees, the community, investors & the environment. Have learned that the majority of learning in life is 'self-learning.' And guidance from other wise people helps. So I read for 3-4 hours daily on subjects like Insurance, Technology, Capital Allocation & Clean Energy at a foundational level. Over time, in the last two decades, this knowledge has compounded. Still, a long way to go. I write & share on LinkedIn because writing makes me think clearly (No News headlines, Fads, or Hype, which are meaningless in the long run). It works like a spider web that keeps growing, i.e. the more you learn, the easier it is to learn more and stay rational. Had been fortunate to know some very wise individuals (directly & indirectly) who have shaped my thinking & actions. And I will remain forever grateful to them. Mistakes are all mine & success is primarily due to luck and partly due to my skills & guidance from some very wise and honourable people (dead & alive both). Basis the above principles, if we can play long-term and laugh together, we can work together too.
