About Rajeev Wasan

I am a self-motivated professional with leadership qualities having about 44 years of experience in automotive industry. I have worked in companies like Telco ( Tata Motors), Maruti Udyog (Maruti Suzuki), Honda Cars, Honda Motors, Japan. I have had the opportunity to set up many new projects from scratch and start these successfully on schedule at the optimum cost. Not only this, I have built good operational and management teams in these projects as well. Few of these main projects are as follows: a) Setting up Car and Engine Assembly projects at Maruti. b) Setting up Purchasing function at Honda Cars. c) Setting up most integrated car manufacturing plant at Honda Cars, Tapukara (including Press Shop, Ferrous Forging Shop, Spin Casting, Injection Moulding, Low Pressure and High Pressure Die Casting, Engine Parts Machining, Car Assy, Parts exports business etc). During my career, I worked mainly in Manufacturing, Purchasing and Customer Service functions. I also supported R&D set up of Honda in India in the capacity as an Executive Advisor in addition to playing my role as Sr Vice President Manufacturing of Tapukara plant of Honda Cars India. I also worked as an expat in Japan Global Purchasing office. My expertise lies in the field of business planning, lean manufacturing, supply chain management, setting up new /green field projects, cost innovation, process innovation, system development (IT),project management, human resource management and development and now Customer Service. Presently I look after Customer Service operation as SVP and Operating Head (OH) in Honda Cars India.
