About Rajendran Rangith

As a Strategic and results-driven Chief Risk Officer with 23 years of extensive experience in retail and business banking crediting, relationship management, and risk management, I have developed a core competency in Risk Management & Analysis Specialist, Credit Analysis & Portfolio Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Compliance & Regulatory Reporting, Financial Statements Analysis, Process Improvement, Team Management, and Relationship Management. Currently, I am the Chief Risk Officer (Assistant General Manager Grade) at Pan Asia Banking Corporation, Sri Lanka. My expertise is reflected in my direct report to Board Integrated Risk Management Committee (BIRMC) with four departments reporting to me. I am a permanent member of Board Integrated Risk Management Committee (BIRMC), Board Credit Committee (BCC), Board Recoveries Committee (BRC), and Board Related Party Review Committee (BRPRC). Additionally, I am a permanent invitee of Board Audit Committee (BAC) and Board Strategic Planning Committee (BSPC). As the Chief Risk Officer, I am responsible for setting the strategy for the enterprise risk function, building a robust risk management framework, and architecture for the Bank, managing the enterprise-wide risk, and ensuring a system-wide view and understanding of the combined risks of the business and their inter-relationships. I formulate and articulate a coherent risk appetite and infrastructure, including operating and financial models and hiring plans. Under my leadership, my Bank has been awarded with the title of “Best Bank in Risk Management in Sri Lanka year 2022“by two periosteous and globally recognized magazines namely “International Business Magazine” and “World Economic Magazine”. In terms of education, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Sri Jayewardenepura, and I have completed various professional development courses to enhance technical skills and management abilities. I am also a Fellow Member of the Certified Public Accountant (FCPA) in Australia, a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA) in the UK, and a lifetime member of the Association of Professional Bankers.
