As a PhD student with a focus on Harmonic Analysis, my research is primarily centered on understanding the mathematical intricacies of signal processing, with a particular emphasis on the Gibbs phenomenon. This phenomenon, a critical area of study in Fourier analysis, plays a vital role in the approximation of signals, especially in the context of waveforms with discontinuities. Through my work, I aim to bridge the gap between theoretical insights and practical applications, exploring how the Gibbs phenomenon affects the accuracy and efficiency of signal reconstruction in various domains, such as communications, audio processing, and data compression. My research is driven by a deep curiosity to uncover more about the limits of signal approximation, and how these findings can inform the development of better algorithms for real-world problems.
