About Rajib Lochan Panda

Heading the STAMS project for OPTCL and the 400 KV D/C Jeypore-Jagdalpur transmission line under TBCB. Earlier to this role I was in OPTCL as Director (Projects) for two years from June’2020 to May’2022. Prior to that I was involved in Erection, testing and commissioning of India’s first bulk power, long distance Rihand-Delhi 1500 MW HVDC transmission system, 500 MW Vindhyachal HVDC BTB system, MW Talcher-Kolar HVDC system and MW RAIGARH-PUGALUR HVDC system. I have gone through a rigorous training on HVDC system at ABB works at Ludvika, Sweden and Celilo HVDC Converter station, USA. Visited the ABB transformer factory at Ludvika, Sweden, Siemens factory at Nuremberg, Germany, BHEL factory at Bhopal and Bangalore. Visited the CPRI at Bangalore. Presented technical papers in CIGRE Conference, New Delhi organised by CBIP at CPRI, Bangalore. Organised the HVDC symposium at Bangalore wherein all HVDC utilities participated. Commissioned 20 no’s GSS with associated transmission lines, 10 no’s independent EHV lines and 10 no’s RTSS projects during the two year stint in OPTCL amidst the covid pandemic.
