About Rakesh Talwar

It’s been an enticing and fulfilling journey of 32 years with 14 restaurants across the globe and still counting. The secret? My passion of giving the guest a tantalising Gourmet experience while building an exciting business model to enrich the client’s vision. My story started with my first owned restaurant, Spare Kitchen in Juhu, Mumbai, which served modern contemporary Indian food, drawing on big flavour food traditions that have been passed down through the generations, with the spices and memories of our childhoods. Since then, I have been a gourmet globe trotter, creating unique restaurant and bar experiences in some of the most exciting cities in the world, from Hong Kong and Zanzibar to Orlando and Dubai. My late father took me travelling from the age of two, the best of gifts and biggest contribution to my education. I love food and I love people. My trips across the continents are to learn about local cuisines with their exotic ingredients, unique cooking styles and amazing local markets. The world is my culinary playground, helping me to curate innovative menus, and serve up only the most authentic, heart-made and home-made dishes from my own kitchens. The story is always changing, with the recent opportunity to curate the nutritionist menu for Viveda Wellness Viveda, in my own backyard of Nasik, an ancient city in the northwest region of Maharashtra in India. When I am not attending a project meeting or curating some new, exotic menu, I work on researching herbs, their medicinal benefits and it’s unique flavour value to a dish. Big personality. Big flavours. Pure good food, made to heal and nourish. My karma is to feed, and my personal Mantra is that no one, nowhere at no time should go hungry.
