About Ralf Hafner

I am a partner in the Munich office of ADVANT Beiten and heading the dispute resolution practice. I am advising on all aspects of international and domestic arbitration and litigation. My practice is focused on corporate and commercial disputes; I have extensive experience in disputes involving M&A contracts, but also regarding the banking, energy and construction sectors. I have been involved in numerous arbitrations governed by various institutional rules like the ones of DIS (German Institution for Arbitration), ICC, Swiss Chambers of Commerce, SCC and LCIA, either as arbitrator, Counsel or as secretary to the arbitral tribunal. I also have experience in ad hoc arbitrations, including proceedings under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. I have advised and written on many of these issues, such as post-M&A-disputes, the enforcement of foreign judgments and awards in Germany, the taking of evidence and other procedural matters. I often provide advice on avoiding litigation and arbitration. Prior to joining Beiten Burkhardt in November 2010 I worked for more than 6 years with a big international law firm in its Dusseldorf and London offices. Since December 2021 I am a member of the advisory council of the DIS. I speak German (native), English (fluent) and French (fair).
