Until recently, Enterprise Architect for Nottinghamshire Police, currently waiting (im)patiently to start a new role. Network Administrator, Geotechnics Limited Provided a complete IT function to a small company with geographically spread offices alongside one colleague. Highlights include improving network and server infrastructure, replacing tape backup and writing an office productivity application. Network Engineer, Nottinghamshire Police As part of a team of five, provided support of the force networking equipment on a 24x7 basis. Primary technologies began with a mixture of Cisco and Extreme Networks switches and Juniper SSG/SA edge devices, before the Extreme hardware was phased out with Cisco IOS devices and Juniper SRX firewalls brought in. Spent much of the last 18 months of this position providing the network design for projects that required it, including creating the infrastructure to securely provide the first public facing application that the force had ever operated. Solutions Architect, Nottinghamshire Police I brought my design skills to a new role in 2014, becoming one of four Solutions Architects within the force, expanding my knowledge of Hyper-V virtualisation, server infrastructure and storage systems as well as continuing to provide advice and guidance for any solutions that have more complex network requirements. Projects on which I have been the Technical Lead include provision of an hugely expandable 'shared folder' style storage for a specialist unit, reimagining and refreshing an infrastructure used to host very sensitive data and most recently working with the Development team to publish several more public facing applications, this time using Amazon Web Services infrastructure. 2020-2022 - Enterprise Architect for Nottinghamshire Police. Leading a team of five Solution Architects and one Data Architect to design and implement solutions to meet the needs of the force. Some of the most high profile recently have been the rollout of Office365 to meet the NEP blueprint and deploying a PALZ complaint AWS Landing Zone
