About Ralf Steeg

Ralf Steeg is a German graduate engineer, landscape architect, urban water management specialist and environmental technician. Already in 1987 he founded a network office for urban ecology in Berlin. Later he specialized in medieval gardens and landscapes, designed numerous gardens for private and public sponsors and curated many events and exhibitions on the topics 'man and cultural landscape'. Since 2002 - and since 2007 supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research - Steeg has been working with a team of engineers, historians, economists, artists, architects, communication experts and suppliers to clean up the Berlin Spree and carry out other projects in the field of urban water management. Within this framework, a large network has been created that goes far beyond the connections of an engineering office and includes, for example, members of the federal parliament. In the course of his work as an engineer, he developed the world's first component system for water management engineering structures, from which plants - especially storm water tanks and sewage treatment plants - can be assembled and thus implemented faster, cheaper and of higher quality. He took part in several exhibitions, holds lectures on environmental protection, water safety and the history of water. Currently he's working in India, Vietnam and China.
