27 years’ experience in Banking and of which 16 years in Card Operations with HSBC Group with a very strong operational management and vendor management skills. I have an in-depth understanding of running a successful card operation, with a very strong knowledge of card payment schemes operating models and procedures. Proven experience of working in a matrix environment and leading teams of 150+ staff across countries and offshore support teams. Excellent leadership skills combined with an open and accessible managing style, emphasizing on ownership and team empowerment. Experience in developing procedures, service standards for business excellence. As the Regional Head of Cards, Loans and Mortgage business services (Ops) – MENA & Turkey, I have successfully devised and executed regional strategies that delivered 10%+ year on year efficiencies within operation teams across 8 regional markets and offshore processing centres. Demonstrable ability to balance Global/Regional strategic objectives with the respective individual country demands to provide enhanced customer experience across all customer segments. As the owner of the risk landscape for cards, loans and mortgages operations within the region, accountable to create an effective people culture that helps in continually assessing the risk environment within the domain. Proactively identifying new and emerging risks, with the objective to mitigate in collaboration with risk owners of the bank. As a banking expert and Change agent, I have been responsible for the delivery of a variety of key initiatives, from minor changes through to managing regulatory and platform changes, automation / digitization and End to End change projects across geographies. Worked closely with Mergers, Acquisitions/Divestitures teams to operationally execute various acquisition (Lloyd's Bank UAE), Mergers (OIB in Oman) and Divestitures (Jordan, Lebanon, Pakistan and Iraq) programmes engaging with senior executives within HSBC and with the counterparts. I’m passionate about driving futuristic changes in card payments and in the lending landscape.
