About Ralph Kassner

I started Construction by building my club house across a little creek at age 7. I am a union trained Journeyman Carpenter. The older Gentlemen that taught us were the best at their trade and only knew one way, the right way. During the 4 years in the apprenticeship program where I worked residential, commercial and public works projects. After that I became a State of Florida Certified General Contractor,CGC 017699, In January 1980. I opened my own construction company and began with remodeling jobs. Which led to additions in Miami, the Keys and N.Y. A kitchen for an architectural critic of The Miami Herald and the late Robin Gibbs home in Miami Beach,to additions which is the best education for how buildings are built and to warehouses where economy of materials is the rule Both a learning experience that allowed me to learn how they are really put together. In 1992 after hurricane Andrew I joined the MDCBD and became a State of Florida Structural Building Inspector, BN 3547. While there I was the union representative and after 5 yrs and plus inspections,a learning experience of what great and what horrible Construction is and practices are. I returned to my construction company and working for other private Construction companies doing high end, multi million dollar homes and with a company doing Miami universities and schools. An opportunity came to over see the 40 yr certification of a Key Biscayne condo, 265 units that gave me a thorough understanding of condo associations. After this project I opened up a new business that I now qualify and oversee, Concrete restoration and 40 yr re certification of buildings. Miami is a booming town but her buildings need qualified and trained workers and qualified and skilled person to keep projects on the right path. Theses days as an inspector there are many occasions where the people doing the work can not read plans or read English. I overcome this by being fluent in Spanish.
