About Ralph Thomson

I have over 30 years experience working in Electronics in both the UK and Europe and I am currently the European Director for Field Applications Engineering for Greenliant Systems Ltd. I am responsible for all the technical aspects of our business in Europe which includes pre and post-sales support as well as presenting Greenliant’s technology in various industry forums. I recently presented a paper at the 2013 Flash Memory Summit in Santa Clara as well as several sessions at the Embedded World Forums in Nuremburg. Our current product range provides designers of embedded systems with solutions for high reliability and high quality embedded Solid State Drive storage. These solutions are universally known as NANDrive and are ideal where data integrity is paramount. After Graduating with Honours in Physics in 1981, I have worked in Applications, Product Management and Sales for a number of UK Semiconductor Companies including the Access Group (now Avnet) supporting Ti and later AMD. With the Intel Distributor Rapid Silicon as Area Sales Manager and then in to Applications on Intel supporting their high performance processors gaining several Intel Qualifications before going to Memec as Applications Manager for Design and Applications support on Cypress. I moved into Product Division Management with P+L responsibility supporting SST, Mitel and others before becoming the European Product Manager looking after Level One (Intel) and SST across Europe. Joining SST in 2001 I was heavily involved in creating their die and wafer business in Europe, with notable success. I was also actively engaged with other chipset companies both in terms of reference design support and getting their inputs for new product definition.
