Background

About Raluca Lacatus

I am a relationship-centered leadership development professional working to strengthen academic systems through equity, trust, and human connection.Growing up in an environment shaped by concentrated power and limited access, I learned early how deeply leadership decisions affect people’s lives. These experiences continue to inform how I lead today — with intention, humility, and a strong awareness of how systems can either expand opportunity or reinforce barriers. In my work in academic leadership development, I design and support initiatives that help leaders navigate complexity, foster meaningful relationships, and contribute to healthy institutional cultures. I am particularly passionate about creating spaces where people are seen as individuals — not labels — and where diverse strengths are recognized and elevated.I bring a coaching mindset to leadership development, informed by my professional practice and my personal development journey. I believe leadership begins with self-awareness and is sustained through relationships.I am motivated by work that strengthens leadership ecosystems in higher education and like to contribute where I can help shape strategy, support inclusive leadership pathways, and build institutions rooted in dignity, connection, and care.
