About Raman Nat

Raman has over 10 years of tax experience advising small to medium sized private businesses in complex Canadian tax matters. Over his career, he has worked primarily at multinational professional services firms. He obtained his CPA designation in 2015 with a specialization in finance and taxation. He completed all three levels of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program, Canada's premier tax specialization program. During his tenure at Deloitte, his focus was primarily in the auditing of Mining and Oil & Gas companies ranging from market capitalizations of $100M to $30B. He was the lead tax auditor of Newmont Corporation and Endeavour Mining Corporation from 2016 to 2020. Raman has advised clients on various taxation matters including corporate structuring and reorganizations, compensation planning, retirement planning, post-mortem planning, cross-border taxation, business takeover planning, and solving other domestic Canadian tax problems. Raman managed Deloitte's Centre of Excellence T1 Personal Income Tax Group of 70 staff during 2019. The Centre of Excellence was tasked with preparing over personal income tax returns annually from all over Canada. More recently, when he worked at Baker Tilly, he led the Vancouver tax practice in the area of Canada's COVID-19 Economic Response Plan. He helped small businesses and individuals claim various subsidies such as the Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy, Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy and Canada Emergency Business Account. In February 2021, Raman started his own company and began working as a consultant for Bradley D. Becker Inc. He helped many of Brad's clients with their personal taxes, corporate taxes, trusts and estates, BC speculation and vacancy taxes, Vancouver empty homes taxes, US cross-border taxes, and helped his clients navigate through many other areas of the Income Tax Act. Outside of his work, Raman is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and he enjoys playing tennis, volleyball and golf.
