About Rami Tamimi

My father paid me with a happy meal when I first started surveying with him at the age of 5. I enjoyed solving problems, working with robots, and being outside. That lifelong passion eventually led me to create the largest surveying media platform on the internet.Hi, I’m Rami, a Professional Surveyor, UAS Pilot, and the Founder of The Survey School. I teach future surveyors how to incorporate traditional fieldwork with modern tools like LiDAR and photogrammetry, all while maintaining the core principles of survey-grade accuracy.I also serve as a Lead Geomatics Manager at WSP. In this role, I’m focused on advancing our geomatics capabilities across Michigan and the Midwest, supporting complex project delivery, and mentoring staff to help build a stronger future for the industry.Academically, I’m a Ph.D. candidate at The Ohio State University in Geodetic Engineering. My research bridges traditional surveying with cutting-edge geospatial technology. I’m currently in the final stages of my dissertation and plan to defend it next semester (fingers crossed!).If you’re into innovative workflows, geospatial technology, or making surveying more accessible, let’s connect. I’m always up for a good conversation, a big idea, or a new way to push the profession forward.
