About Ramin Mersi

Robotics is my craft, my passion, and my way of shaping the world. I’m a robotics engineer with a strong background in parallel mechanisms, particularly delta and cable-driven systems. I specialize in control, trajectory planning, and teleoperation, with a focus on haptic integration and real-time system development. I’ve worked extensively with various robotic arms, like the Meca500, Kinova Gen3, and Franka Research 3, integrating them with our haptic platforms at Haply Robotics. My experience spans rapid prototyping, embedded systems, and firmware optimization to enable high-frequency performance for enhanced haptic feedback. I hold a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, graduating with honors from Université Laval, where I designed, controlled, and successfully tested a cable-driven robot for radiotherapy calibration in a clinical setting. During my bachelor’s studies, I focused on the design and control of an omni-directional mobile robot, where I gained early hands-on experience in full-cycle robotic development. My work is more than a career—it’s a passion to create, improve, and leave a meaningful impact on the world.
