About Ramith Nair

Experienced post-doctoral researcher in Microbiology with special interest in understanding role of antibiotic resistance in complex biosystems. Worked in five different countries and skilled in most microbiological and molecular biology methods and techniques with a knack of developing new methods and techniques. Developed the first purely bacterial predator-prey system to study the evolutionary role of bacterial predation, also developed an NGS-based environmentally friendly method to determine relative fitness in bacterial populations and co-developed a microscopy-based method to measure growth rate of actinomycetes. Currently working on understanding the fate of clinically relevant antibiotic resistance mutations in multi-species environments. Lead a team of four to develop a course on antibiotic resistance aimed at high school students for Life Sciences Zurich Learning Center.
