Highly accomplished public health professional with extensive experience in project management, program analysis, budget management, and strategic planning within governmental, public, and private healthcare settings. Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and drive practice transformation. Ramon is an expert in public health systems and public health policy research and development. He has a proven track record of successful project management and proposal development. He has a wealth of experience providing technical assistance to state and local health agencies on strategic planning, accreditation, quality improvement, community health assessments, and other public health issues. Ramon Bonzon is currently a Public Health Advisor at the Office of Minority Health, Department of Health and Human Service. He develops and reviews annual fiscal year budget justifications, ensuring alignment with appropriations bills, strategic priorities, and the mission of OMH. He also manages the submission of contract requisitions into acquisition systems. At the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Ramon was a public health advisor and government project officer for cooperative agreements to improve infrastructure for youth and young adults with substance use disorders or co-occurring mental health disorders. Ramon also conducted project and policy analyses of youth substance use treatment and opioid response projects, identifying quality improvement opportunities and measuring effectiveness. Ramon Bonzon was the former Senior Director of Membership Engagement and Services at Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO). His main duties included managing the State Health Leadership Initiative which orients new state health officials, directly support members through technical assistance and working with ASTHO alumni to continue to support state public health. Prior to ASTHO, Ramon worked at the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) as the Program Manager for the project Survive and Thrive: Roadmap for New Local Health Officials, an orientation for new local health officials. Ramon completed the Association of Schools of Public Health/CDC Public Health Preparedness Fellowship at the Georgia Department of Public Health in 2006 where he led public health and preparedness training across the state. Ramon was Project Coordinator, and later Deputy Director, of the Mid-America Regional Public Health Leadership Institute (MARPHLI).
