About Ramon Sanchez

Ramón has vast experience in the design, construction, maintenance and repair of building structures of any kind and materials. In the last years, together with SACYR he has been involved in some of the most singular projects built in Spain working with both national and international architects. He has also lectured at SEK University (today’s IE University) where he has developed his communication skills. He lectures frequently at universities and professional organizations. He has published several papers on special engineering topics and is known for been co-author of the book Números Gordos en el Proyecto de Estructuras, one of the best sellers in the spanish construction industry. Ramón joined SACYR in 2001 to lead the Structural Engineering Department at the Building Division, which is responsible for the design and construction of foundation and structures. His department also advices on quality control, planning assistance, façade design and project management. He has vast experience in high rise construction and historic buildings and has participated in the construction and design of large span roofs, airports, hospitals, offices, museums, theatres and railway stations. Ramón has also advised other companies of the group on buildability issues, I+D+i, foundation typologies, off-site construction, repair techniques and he is mainly focused on achieving cost-effective solutions through smart design and efficient construction.
