About Ramon Tate

I've been involved in Real Estate since 1979 in the fields of survey, deed plotting, general mapping, aerial mapping, tax mapping, right of way mapping, transportation construction right of way planning, map verification, title research, Easement Acquisition, Governmental Acquisition Appraisal and Appraisal Review under the requirements of Title 23, The Uniform Appraisal Standards for Federal Land Acquisition, The Uniform Act, 49 CFR Part 24, and being certified as an expert witness in real property appraisal to provide testimony in the Special Court of Eminent Domain. My extensive experience in these fields led to being a Supervising Certified Appraiser for many appraisal trainees and an approved instructor for Governmental Acquisition Appraisal, Reviewer for Uniform Act compliance by Local Public Agencies, author/editor of the appraisal section of a state right of way operations manual, author/editor for state waiver valuation procedures, author/editor of data collection/entry instruction manual for state comparable sales database as well as database supervisor. I retired from the Mississippi Department of Transportation in 2014, and established Appraisal Services of the Mid-South in order to continue working in my field of experience in governmental acquisition appraisal as an appraisal contractor. In 2018, I was selected to be Chief Appraiser for the Mississippi Valley Division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
