Joined Maven in 2011 with Maven's acquisition of HM Corporate Solutions, including three captive, income-generating funds, to establish Maven Property. Brought significant experience of structured commercial property development funding to Maven, with a focus on hotels and structures utilising Business Premises Renovation Allowance (BPRA). Maven has now funded eight hotel development projects across the UK with total project costs of c.£100 million, including six utilising BPRA. Identified the opportunity in the Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) sector and led Maven’s first two PBSA investments, since successfully exited. Maven has now funded 13 PBSA projects across the UK with total project costs of c.£175 million. Led other projects including office sector, residential and longer-term income producing investments. Maven Property now has a team of nine across Glasgow and London, a portfolio of 25+ projects/assets with combined project costs of c.£300 million having achieved six successful exits and substantial recurring income. Role now 3-days per week principally focused on identifying new investment opportunities and sources of capital, using an extensive network in the developer, agency, banking and investment communities in the UK and overseas. This provides flexibility for involvement in non-competing opportunities eg: Non-Exec/Board Advisory, RE Due Diligence, development structuring/funding etc, utilising my extensive experience and contact base.
