About Ramya Prathuri

I am a passionate and rigorous biochemist and technical leader with expertise in high throughput screening, assay development, protein characterization, and enzyme catalysis. I have worked on expression, purification, biophysical study, and assay development for screening (MS and plate-based) for enzymes, binders, and antibodies both at scale and at the bench. I joined the early team at Ginkgo Bioworks and grew my career, rising to meet the challenges and changes in a high-growth start up. As a scientist, I particularly value devising and executing on clear technical strategy, practicing crisp scientific communication, and enabling effective collaboration. As a Senior Engineer II, my role encompasses people management, technical leadership, and strategic innovation. What brings me to work every day is the chance to work in a collaborative environment to address challenging environmental and pharmaceutical problems with biochemical, protein-based solutions.
