About Randall Carpenter
I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, seeking a tenure-track faculty position in academia. My future research program will focus on neuro-immune interactions in the development and function of the immune system, with a specialization in the sympathetic regulation of the thymus microenvironment. I am currently looking for the upcoming 2025-2026 application cycle. My Postdoctoral projects in the Maryanovich and Frenette labs included: 1) macrophage-HSC interactions in the hematopoietic niche, 2) the role of sympathetic nerves in regulating the thymic microenvironment, & 3) the role of sympathetic nerves in regulating immune surveillance in acute myeloid completed my Ph.D. in Neuroscience from The Ohio State University in the laboratory of Phillip G. Popovich. My research focused on two related areas: 1) developing humanized mice to study human immune responses after spinal cord injury; and 2) understanding how spinal cord injury impairs hematopoiesis, the physiological process of developing peripheral immune and red blood cells in the bone marrow.
