I have been working since I turned 16 in the food industry at different levels. I started as a waiter when I was 16 and worked as a restaurant manager through college. After graduating from UMKC, I got a job immediately working at Dupont as a quality control analyst in their emulsifier plant. They followed all food safety guidelines with a very high bar for accuracy and quality. After my contract ended with them I moved over to Bayer Crop Science where I got more experience with different instrumentation. They worked more with chemicals and so they followed EPA guidelines instead. Along with the added instrumentation, I also got experience with waste treatment and safe disposal practices since Bayer handles all of that internally. I have a wide variety of technical skills associated with lab work. I have a long list of instrumentation that I am proficient at using as well as multiple kinds of data entry systems. The instrumentation includes GC, HPLC, mass spectrometry, NMR, FTIR/NIR, X-Ray, UV/Vis, Calorimetry, Auto-titration, Karl Fischer, Specific Gravity, and many others. As far as software, I am proficient in SAP, Empower, Starlims, Microsoft Office, and many others.I am mostly a night owl. I prefer later shifts and don't mind shift work, but I am capable of working whatever time is necessary. I have spent a large amount of my work time on my own so I am capable of self motivation, but I am also used to working in and leading team environments. I will typically defer to whoever is in charge or of higher experience to make any difficult decisions, but I can make them myself if required.In closing, I'm kind of a jack of all trades who is looking for something that will be a permanent fit. The reason I am currently looking for a position is because I am tired of being on contract and I really want to be at a company where I don't constantly feel like an outsider. Any company that shows they want me around will find a loyal employee with a great attitude.
