About Randall McKeown

We learn so much when we travel, we learn to be tolerant and understanding of others. For those like myself who live in a very diverse community being able to understand that we may be different in ways that we can see, there are so many ways that we are similar that we may not see. As a journalist is with pride that I can bring stories and news of people and events from around the world. I am an independent journalist and that gives me more flexibility in what I write about and when I write the stories. The pandemic forced our hands in finding new ways in being social. I had to lead my Toastmasters club from in person meetings to online meetings. The long separation from family and friends was a hard pill to swallow and losing someone during this time was so much more difficult. I started podcasting during this time as a way of reaching out and giving listeners hope. I found so many people in my podcast community that gave me confidence to continue and finding guests came without stress. I found an audience as a creator on the Fireside app with almost 8k followers. I was creating real-time content. I left being a Travel Advisor for more than 10 years but still love travel. My last big trip was a trip that saw me spend a few days in and around Amsterdam before flying to Cape Town to tour for a week and then heading northeast via Johannesburg to go on Safari in Humala River Lodge, Tshukudu Game Lodge and Kruger National Park.
