About Randolph Deaton

I am a Special Agent and FBI Art Crime Team member assigned to the FBI's New Orleans Field Office. I have approximately 25 years of federal law enforcement experience in the investigation of white-collar crime, violent crime, property crime, transnational organized crime, and national security matters. In addition to the New Orleans Field Office, my duty assignments have included the FBI’s New York Office - 03/2001) and FBI Headquarters. From 08/16/2021 to 02/11/2023, I was the Program Manager and Supervisory Special Agent of the FBI's Art Crime Program and national Art Crime Team. The Art Crime Program is responsible for the FBI's entire portfolio of criminal investigations involving theft, fraud, and the illegal trafficking of art, antiquities, and other cultural property. The Art Crime Team consists of 20+ members stationed across the United States who investigate and support art crime and cultural property matters and provide training both domestically and internationally. I have extensive experience working joint investigations with local, tribal, state, military, and other federal law enforcement agencies. My other collateral duties with the FBI have included Field Office Correctional Intelligence Program Coordinator, Primary and Secondary Relief Supervisor, Field Training Agent, Airport Liaison Agent, FBI Adjunct Faculty Program member, Firearms Instructor, Police Instructor, Special Agent Assessor, and Interview and Interrogation Instructor. In addition to my law enforcement duties, I enjoy lecturing to middle school, high school, and college students.
