About Randy Albano

As a seasoned leader with over 25 years of progressive experience in mechanical and electrical systems, my career trajectory spans from HVAC implementation to strategic commissioning leadership and technical project oversight. As a certified CxA (BCxP) and LEED AP BD+C, I apply a rigorous, analytical approach, integrating extensive field-derived insights with a deep understanding of building system principles to optimize complex building systems for peak, day-one operational efficiency. Commencing post-secondary education in my trajectory included an HVAC apprenticeship, culminating in journeyman (2004) and master (2007) licensures. This was augmented by eight years of entrepreneurial experience leading an HVAC business, which provided a comprehensive understanding of system lifecycle dynamics and client-centric performance metrics. To deepen my technical knowledge, I pursued a civil engineering degree starting in 2009. In 2020, this background led to a specialized commissioning role at Morrissey Engineering. This team later branched off as Tune Facilities, LLC, operating as an independent third-party commissioning firm. My systems expertise covers a wide range of mechanical and electrical infrastructure: Mechanical: Chilled Water, District Chilled Water, Heating Water, Boilers, Steam, VRF systems, Custom AHUs, Packaged DX units, and aquarium life support systems. Electrical: ATS, PDUs, UPS (multi-module, various battery types), ANSUL fire suppression systems, and multi-megawatt paralleling power generation systems. As Commissioning Authority, I've led diverse, complex projects in key sectors: Critical Infrastructure: Highly resilient 2N+1, Tier 4 data centers for confidential clients. Public & Institutional: Douglas County Correction Center, Douglas County Courthouse Tower & Youth Center, US Courthouse Iowa District, Pennington County Jail Tower. Educational & Research: UNL Engineering Research Center, Scott Engineering Center, LEED Gold Kiewit Hall, Westbrook Music Building; SCC Health Sciences & Academic Excellence Centers.
