About Randy Stedman

Randy Stedman is a human resources and labor relations executive, labor and employment lawyer, expert witness, and consultant. Randy retired from TriMet in November 2018 as member of its Executive Commitee and Executive Director, Human Resources & Labor Relations. TriMet is the 9th largest public transit provider in the United States. Randy recently relaunched Workplace Practices Group (WPG), which he founded in 2002. WPG provides LR and HR consulting and advice for collective bargaining, expert witness testimony in labor and employment cases, workplace investigations, compensation and pay equity implementation, executive search for LR and HR leadership positions, and short-term interim executive assignments. Randy has served as chief human resources officer in five large organizations, as well as VP of Legal Affairs & Human Resources and as a labor and employment lawyer in private practice and as in-house counsel. Randy has subject matter expertise in collective bargaining, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, and organizational re-engineering. His professional passion is rapidly changing, turnaround and merger and acquisition operating environments. Randy's has applied his expertise across a variety of sectors, including transportation, retailing, utilities, business process outsourcing, software and IT services, professional services, commercial banking, and higher education in organizations ranging from 800 to employees. Randy's professional background also includes managing corporate communications, together with five years of M&A activity on both sides of transactions. Randy started his career as an executive search consultant, primarily serving IT clients in the banking and retailing arenas.
