About Randy Walsh

Randy is a professional ecologist with over 20 years of experience managing, designing, implementing, and monitoring natural resources projects throughout the United States. His vegetation ecology expertise includes riparian and wetland science, the restoration and rehabilitation of upland and aquatic habitats, temperate forest ecology, wildland fire science, and applied biology. Randy has specialized experience in stream, riparian, and wetland restoration; disturbance ecology (especially effects of wildland fires, floods, invasive species, anthropogenic affects); fluvial geomorphology; forest ecology; and terrestrial biology. He has successfully led multiple major restoration projects in a project management role while simultaneously serving as the lead ecologist and vegetation designer. Throughout his career, Randy has conducted numerous field studies including revegetation experiments and field trials, wetland delineations, vegetation inventories, wetland and riparian re-vegetation plans, rare plant surveys, wildlife surveys, fire history assessments, and forest and rangeland dynamics investigations. He has also served as a senior resource discipline manager on projects examined under NEPA and the Endangered Species Act and has led multiple consultations on projects with the USACE. He has direct experience with every aspect of a project, from client establishment to project closeout. Randy takes enormous pride in working collaboratively with clients and project stakeholders to develop sustainable and resilient natural resource solutions.
