Assist the Director of Information Technology with the planning, budgeting, and implementation of technology policies, programs and services to support the City’s end user needs. Oversee the City’s information technology operations including Project Management, GIS and Application Development. •Assist with the development of goals and strategies for the City’s Information Technology Department by conducting meetings, planning sessions, employee interviews, and related research. •Administer development and use of the Information Technology budget. •Supervise, coordinate and evaluate the work of assigned staff by setting individual employee goals and by providing feedback and performance evaluations. •Establish long-term goals and objectives to align information technologies with the City’s strategic plan. • Oversee, implement and ensure compliance with the City’s technology and network security policies and regulations. •Oversee the direction of the processes for acquiring, installing, and utilization of local area networks, application systems, and computer hardware for the entire City. •Research and evaluate new technologies that fit the City’s strategic vision meet end-user needs; conduct feasibility and cost/benefit analyses. •Consult with other department directors to coordinate the evaluation and implementation of desktop hardware and software programs. •Direct personnel in the development and implementation of special projects. •Report to other City departments, councils, organizations and the public on the City’s information technology policies, systems, and equipment.
