About Ranganath Heggere
Since October 2003, I have been the chair of the computer science department at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). My teaching and research interests include pattern recognition, image processing, neural networks, and data science. I have directed 12 Ph.D. dissertations, received more than 4 million dollars as research grants, and published more than 100 technical papers. I am actively involved in recruiting undergraduate and graduate students to engineering, computer science and business programs at the UAH, and have recruited more than 500 students since 2005. I love advising international students on preparation, university selection and on improving the chances of getting financial assistantships. Almost 50% of the students recruited by me have received financial assistance from UAH.
