About Ranjeeva Mendis

Hello, my name is Ranjeeva Mendis. I am currently in my final year sitting for my Undergraduates in Banking, Finance, and Financial Risk Management offered by Victoria University, via NSBM, Homagama. I have always had an interest in the finance industry due to its vast array of opportunities. My interest sparked during the COVID times when I read a book called “Think and grow rich” by Napoleon Hill. Reading this book gave me an insight into how money works and how the finance and business industry operates. By doing a double degree, my knowledge in both fields will come in handy as I can apply my knowledge in either industry, I choose to work in. My hard skills have been honed due to the degree that I have chosen and is very applicable in my professional life. I have developed my soft skills as well by being a part of numerous teams (both sports and academics) which helped me with being flexible with whatever role I was to play. Since I have strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, I am always willing to participate in team activities and in bigger team projects. I have a happy go-getting attitude which helps me deal with a lot of people easily. This will come in handy when dealing with customers resulting in customer satisfaction. I am positive that my skills and knowledge will be a positive contribution to my future professional career. I am always ready to learn new things, especially in my field of Finance and Risk Management.
