About Ranjit Bar

In 2014, during my B.Tech. studies in Dehradun, my life took a transformative turn. A chance encounter with a destitute family—particularly the sight of their children begging—tugged at my heartstrings. Determined to help, I offered financial assistance with one condition: the children had to be enrolled in school. Witnessing their joy in learning ignited a deeper sense of purpose within me. Although the family moved back to Aligarh after six months, leaving me heartbroken, this moment only strengthened his resolve to create lasting change. By 2016, I and a group of like-minded friends founded the Building Dreams Foundation. Our passion for change led to the enrollment and education of 431 children across four schools within a year. Today, our dedication has positively impacted over children, a testament to the power of collective commitment. Faced with the choice between completing my degree or focusing on Building Dreams, I chose the latter, foregoing personal ambitions for a greater cause. I would describe my mission as “human engineering,” finding joy in the potential and happiness of those we help, despite the challenges. Guided by the mantra, “First be kind, and then successful,” we would love to inspire others to prioritize compassion alongside achievement.
