About Raphael Mongare

Raphael has gained experience in GIS and Remote Sensing applications with immense contributions to various projects in a research institution and as an educator. He has experience in ecological and species distribution modeling, vegetation damage assessments using earth observation technologies, and field data collection using different tools. Raphael has gained interest in machine learning techniques to study species distribution, species abundance, vector-and-vector-borne disease prediction, and landscape change analysis using Earth Observation (EO) datasets. He is an experienced user of different GIS and Remote Sensing software such as ArcGIS suite of products, QGIS, R, Google Earth Engine, ERDAS Imagine, Impact ToolBox, and Google Earth Pro in various applications. Raphael holds a Bachelor's in Environmental Planning and Management from Kenyatta University. He is continuing his Masters in Geography and Environmental Studies at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.
