About Raphael Weber

My fascination for complex mechanisms first brought me into the watchmaking world. After my apprenticeship I furthered my mechanical skills by creating my own clock as part of the Watchmaking Master course and within the next few years started working on high-end timepieces from Omega, Blancpain and Breguet. Soon I began to notice that the procedures I was following were holding me back, and suggested that I could be of greater help in another position. An opportunely scheduled year-long 5S project ensued, during which I was responsible for the watchmaker’s workshops. With the project successfully concluded I had been offered the position of Technical Supervisor shortly after, whose responsibility covers all technical departments. Despite my young age, I was able to get my team of experienced watchmakers and technicians on my side by understanding their needs and concerns, and find a solution that benefits everybody. Stagnation and complacency are anathema to me, even if it means conceding my own error. The continuous improvement of the workplace and the well-being of the team is more important than my ego or personal gains. I enjoy working with disparate people as it provides a larger pool of experience and mentalities that can contribute to the company as a whole, and I am proud of the achievements we were able to accomplish as a team. When my visa expired the world was in pandemic lockdown, so I returned to my home country and once again took to the bench, servicing timepieces from Jaeger Lecoultre and Panerai.
