About Raquel MacSwain
To say the times have been unprecedented would be an understatement. Currently, I am on my second year as a School Counselor at The Dalles High School (TDHS). Our advisors were not kidding when they indicated you learn and experience everything on the job, especially amongst a pandemic and increasing mental health awareness. Unique accomplishments these last two years at TDHS-Co-facilitated a Suicide Prevention Training known as QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer)-Created and led a 9th grade success team during remote learning-Encouraged Staff Wellness by leading a Professional Development on both staff and student wellbeing-Designed and co-manage our High School Counseling Website: https://sites.google.com/nwasco.k12.or.us/tdhscounseling/welcome-Collaborated on crisis team to address staff death and provide grief resources to staffOne day, I hope to work in district office, a nonprofit tied towards education, or expand my horizons and work for a company that is making the world a better place.
