About Rashed al-Haque

WHO AM I? I am an internationally educated policy analyst, strategic planner, researcher, critical thinker, and educator with a PhD in Educational Policy Studies from Western University, Canada. Currently, I am the Associate Director of Policy Development & Planning at Camosun College in Victoria, BC, where I work to develop college policies and develop and advance the College's Strategic Plan. WHAT AM I GOOD AT? As a result of my academic work and previous employment, I am able to independently plan a project and deliver it to agreed timelines. I am comfortable working with minimum supervision and can work well in a team to solve problems. I can take complex ideas and information and communicate it effectively to a wide range of audiences. I am passionate about being an effective educator and use learner-centered strategies to convey ideas and information using a variety of media. I pride myself at being available to my peers, visible within a setting, and approachable. I would describe myself as an effective and empathetic active listener who knows the value of intercultural communication to speak to a diverse group of people.
