About Rashed Alshaali

As an architect and building scientist, I hold a Ph.D. in Architecture Technology from UCLA and a Master's degree in Building Science from USC. With 15+ years of experience, my expertise includes passive cooling and specifically natural ventilation. I focus on sustainable and energy-efficient architectural solutions, including the use of natural ventilation for passive cooling.I'm a registered member of the Society of Building Science Educators and have authored several publications and presented at international conferences. I'm an active member of academic and professional committees, serving as the Chair of the Scientific Research Committee for the Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport, among other roles.In addition, I developed Climate Analysis for Natural Ventilation (CANV), a tool that assesses the natural ventilation potential of a climate, allowing architects to identify suitable natural ventilation applications for passive cooling. I also developed Wind Wheel, which is incorporated into Climate Consultant, a leading software that aids sustainable design.I'm exploring the integration of the latest AI and technology into Architecture education, and I offer pro bono services for cost and energy-efficient home building.
