About Rashida Franklin

I am a Senior Program and Product Manager for the Department of Veteran Affairs. I have been with the VA for over 22 years serving in several positions. I have been working within the Information Technology department and have been quite successful in my project endeavors'. Over the past few years, I have made an impact in the areas of policy, communications, requirements analysis, business analysis, strategic planning, and acquisitions. I have an extensive background in healthcare and business management from my experiences within healthcare and business administration. Prior to working for the Department of Veteran Affairs, I worked at Howard University as the Director of the Learning Resource Center for Nursing and Allied Health Sciences. Among my accomplishments is the opportunity I had to serve as an Initiative Lead for one of the VA’s Secretary top initiatives. I am also a member of the highly esteemed Leadership VA (LVA) Alumni cohort and have recently completed Executive Leadership training for the Senior Executive Service. I consider myself to be a lifetime student. I received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Howard University, a Master’s in Business Administration from Strayer University, a Master’s in Project Management from George Washington University, as well as FAC P/PM Level and FAC COR Level II certifications from the Veteran Affairs Acquisition Academy. My current goals are to complete my Doctorate in Health Care Administration and serve within the Senior Executive Service. My measurement of success begins with knowing what I do now will change the way healthcare is managed in the future and how people will experience care for themselves and their families.
