About Rashmi Kwatra

Rashmi started working in her father's export business at the age of 10, and bought her first stock at the age of 12. Her first experience managing an investment portfolio was at the age of 17, when she acted as a mini-endowment CIO. She sourced funding for an education NGO in the north of Thailand, which is her home, and invested the funding in a portfolio of equities. The portfolio provided sustainable cash flows in the form of dividends for the non-profit's cause while allowing the funding capital to appreciate over time. Rashmi graduated magna cum laude from the Wharton School the University of Pennsylvania and as both a Benjamin Graham Scholar and Joseph Wharton Scholar. After The Wharton School, she joined Prince Street Capital Management, an emerging and frontier specialist, and was responsible for their investments in South and Southeast Asia. Rashmi was made the youngest Partner of the business in 2014. In 2017, she founded Sixteenth Street Capital, and in 2018 launched the Sixteenth Street Asian GEMS fund focused on long-term investing and opportunities in Asia’s fastest growing markets. While focused on public equities Rashmi would say she values a business as would a long-term private buyer. Her heritage is in South Asia but her family has been in Southeast Asia for over a century. She speaks Thai, Hindi, Punjabi, Spanish and English.
