Long story, longer. After working within financial departments for years I wanted a carreer switch. It had been on my mind for quite a while until I decided to pull the trigger. after talking to a dear friend I actually quit my job even before I had anything else. That evening I had a fotoshoot for a project I did years back. During the shoot I told the photographer I just quit my job. Afterwards he asked me what I wanted to do. I told him two letters, IT! He stepped closer to me and said, I think I might have something for you. It was a magical moment. I took a leap of faith and boom, magic. A few months later, I started a Low code traineeship. However after just a month I was unemployed again. Me and five other trainees couldn't find an employer to extend the traineeship. Luckily I already had my intermediate Mendix and Scrum Master Certificates. So now I was eager to find a job in (Low) coding. I had many talks with recruiters and also a few interviews. After a while I had spoken with so many recruiters, that I felt I was done with it. One one particular day I just heard that I didn't get the job I applied for once again. I also had a talk with yet another recruiter earlier. That same day I got another phone call and I thought, here we go again. But during the call i realized this call was different. Pieter Luijken was the recruiter who called me and the conversation was really from human to human. He actually listened closely to what I had to say, so he knew exactly how I felt. He went an extra mile for me to get the attention from a company called VanMeeuwen. So I scored an interview and I felt good about it. After two Interviews I was called back by the HR Manager to congratulate me. She told me that i was hired. I had the job. I was in owe. I still get goosebumps when I think about this magical moment. Not only did I get my dream job - IT Engineer, I am also working for the best employer I can imagine. The IT team is the best team with the best colleagues. Honestly, this is even way better than what I wished for. To this day I am still extremely grateful with my job. A long time ago my father told me that I can (we all can) achieve anything in life, we truly desire. Amen to that
