About Ravie Samaroo

I am a Senior Quality Auditor for the Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS) the sole provincial distributor of recreational Cannabis within Ontario. In this role, I lead the OCS Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) program. I have led the development and implementation of a vendor quality monitoring program and vendor auditing program. I have led the management of many Quality Management System (QMS) processes across several sites such as Internal Audits, Vendor Qualification and Performance Monitoring, QMS Document Control. In my previous role I also led the management of Non-Conformance Management, Corrective Actions and Preventative Actions, Supplier Management and ISO 13485:2016 harmonization. I have assisted in conducting internal audits, regulatory body inspections and execution of corrective actions from inspections. My most exciting work to date has been the launch of the OCS Vendor auditing program. I have also worked in the Medical Device and Pharmaceutical Industries at BD Canada, Baylis Medical Company Inc, Xagenic Inc. and Apotex Inc. where I was fortunate enough to participate in many high-level project implementations such as the implementation of an electronic document management system, Unique Device Identifier product implementation and post market monitoring of products such as Complaint Investigation processes. I’m truly passionate about my work in Quality Assurance/Quality Management and I am always eager to connect with others in the Medical Marijuana, Recreational Cannabis Medical Device, Pharmaceutical and NHP fields. While I enjoy all aspects of my job, I think my favourite stage of a project is working as a team with stakeholders in the company to achieve a greater common goal. I am a certified ISO 13485:2016 Lead Auditor, Internal Auditor, have a post graduate certificate in Regulatory Affairs and Quality Operations (RAQC) from Seneca College and a B.Sc.(Hons) from the University of Toronto.
