I introduce myself as a research student working under the guidance of Dr. V. Subramanian, Scientist, CSIR- Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai, and Tamilnadu, India. I have joined his group in Nov 2007. I am working in the field of interaction of Collagen (Fibrillar potein) with Nanomaterials using molecular dynamics/molecular mechanics (MD/MM) approaches. The title of my Ph.D thesis is “Studies on the Structural Stability of Collagen Like Peptides Upon Their Interaction With Nanomaterials”. I have submitted synopsis of PhD thesis in May 2014. I received rigorous training in the area of computational chemistry methods such as molecular mechanics and molecular dynamics simulations. I have carried out detailed investigation on the role of collagen like peptides (CPs) interaction with graphene surface to understand the structural stability and biocompatibility of the material on the protein for regenerative medicine/tissue engineering. In this regard, CNTs show viscoelastic properties akin to that found in soft-tissues and have been used to increase the tensile strength of hybrid biomaterial. Thus in the design and development of new hybrid scaffolds, the understanding of interaction between CNTs and CPs is necessary. Due to the potential application of CNT in the tissue engineering, study on the interaction of CNT with CPs gains paramount importance and with noble metal such as gold is set to revive its use in nanoscale applications in bio-imaging, cancer diagnostics and therapeutics across the biomedical spectrum Furthermore, I have also used Linux, windows, and PERL Scripting packages for my research work.
