About Ravina Moirangthem
During my undergraduate in IIT Kharagpur, my research primarily focused on synthesis of small molecule drugs. In my PhD, I transitioned from a synthetic chemist to exploring photochemistry and alkylation on DNA. This transition has been an exciting challenge and I am open to learning new skills. Biochemistry skills: Recombinant expression and purification of enzymes, UV spectrometry, gel electrophoresis techniques (SDS-PAGE, Denaturing, agarose and Native PAGE), image analysis through ImageQuant TL software, PH-meter, assay development, and troubleshooting PCR conditions. Organic skills: Design of multistep synthesis, NMR, MS, column chromatography polarimetry, distillation, extraction methods, skills in carrying out sensitive reactions involving glove box.
