About Ray Colclough

With close to three decades of experience in the music and DJ industry, spanning radio, clubs, and live events, I currently hold the position of Head of Music and Presenter at WLR FM, where I curate and deliver content that connects deeply with our listeners. My work is driven by a lifelong passion for music, particularly in championing Irish talent and providing a platform for emerging and established artists alike. In 2021, I founded Waterford Music Week, an initiative dedicated to spotlighting the remarkable creativity within the local music scene. Through radio, online platforms, and live showcases, it has become a vital space for independent musicians to share their work with a wider audience. I was honoured to receive a special IMRO Award at the Radiodays Ireland Conference in Dublin, recognising my ongoing commitment to supporting Irish music creators. This recognition reflects the values I’ve always stood by—uplifting artists, telling great stories, and helping communities thrive through music. Whether I’m behind the mic, programming playlists, or working with artists, my aim is simple: to make sure the music gets heard, the voices are amplified, and the audience feels something real.
