About Ray Dienzo
Prior to working at the Nipomo Community Services District, Ray was the District Engineer and Utilities Manager for the Cambria Community Services District where he managed the Water and Wastewater Infrastructure, Capital Improvement Projects, and Permitting. Ray also worked in private engineering consulting developing Water and Wastewater Design with tasks including water and sewer modeling, grading and drainage, storm water drainage, and permitting. Ray then moved to the public sector as an Engineer in the County of San Luis Obispo Public Works. Past duties and positions within the County included Utility Coordinator, Project Engineer for the Hydraulic Planning Unit, Project Engineer for Los Osos project team, and Program Manager for the Water Recycling and Water Conservation for Los Osos. Ray was promoted in May 2015 to the position of Technical Unit Engineering Supervisor for the new Water Resources Division within County of SLO Public Works. His responsibilities included - Hydrological Data Collection and Management, Basin Watershed Study Support, Annual Land Use, Supply and Demand Analysis; and IRWM Monitoring and Compliance. Notable projects included upgrading the Live Weather ALERT website, use of aerial electromagnetic technology (SkyTEM) for obtaining groundwater data, and the Cloud Seeding Program for the Lopez Lake Watershed. Prior to working in the Water/Wastewater Engineering, Ray spent 8 years working in the Lighting/Electrical industry as well as the Fiber Optic Communication industry. He switch careers to the civil engineering in 2002 where he began designing water/wastewater systems, storm drainage, and other water resources related projects. Ray is a Professional Civil Engineer and is licensed in both California and Pennsylvania. Since 2008, Ray is also an adjunct instructor at Cuesta College, teaching Water Treatment and Water Distribution courses.
