About Ray Gonzalez

With over 20 years of experience as a police officer and a K-9 handler, I am a passionate and dedicated leader in the field of canine law enforcement. I currently serve as a police sergeant, an E.D.D. K-9 handler, and a CRU member at California State University-Long Beach, where I oversee the training, deployment, and performance of the K-9 unit, as well as the safety and security of the campus community. I have extensive skills in product demonstration, written communication, and operant conditioning, which I use to showcase the capabilities and benefits of the K-9 program to various audiences, including students, faculty, staff, and external partners. I also have a strong background in narcotics, EOD, and patrol canine handling, having worked as a K-9 handler at California State University-Northridge and the J. Paul Getty Trust for over 14 years. I am fluent in Spanish, and I am currently working on a degree in criminal justice from California Coast University. My mission is to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of law enforcement operations through the use of canine teams, and to promote a positive and respectful relationship between the police and the public. I am always eager to learn new skills and methods, and to collaborate with other professionals and organizations in the canine industry.
