About Ray Lopez

I am currently the South Florida Sales Manager at FG Building Products, representatives for Elevate/ Firestone Building Products, GenFlex Roofing Systems, Bilco Roof, Floor, Smoke Hatches and Roof Top Anchor Turn-Key Rooftop Fall Protection Systems throughout the state of Florida and Southern Georgia. I was first introduced to the roofing industry as a child in the 1980’s through my families roofing company, which is still operational today. This is where I developed a passion for the industry. During my time at the family run business I was able to work in various capacities which included becoming acquainted with material and labor costs, proper application techniques of various roofing assemblies, local code requirements, permitting, job estimating and sales. Over the past 22 years, I've also had the opportunity to work for Polyglass and Tarco, who are the industry leading manufacturers of asphaltic self-adhering membranes and underlayments. My positions within these companies ranged from field technical/sales representative to field technical services manager and finally district sales manager. During my tenure I conducted field inspections, job start training, assembled and installed proprietary roof assemblies for testing and continuously developed relationships with contractors and distributors alike. In addition to this practical experience, I am fluent in Spanish and currently hold a Registered Roof Observer "RRO" certification as recognized by International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants “IIBEC” formerly the Roof Consultant Institute "RCI". I regularly attend continuing education courses and seminars in order to keep up with industry developments and changes. I enjoy imparting my knowledge of all things roofing on others almost as much as I enjoy when others impart their wisdom upon me. I currently reside in Miramar, FL which is a suburb of Broward County. I am a devoted husband and father of 2. My interests include fishing, boating, auto enthusiast and timepiece connoisseur.
