About Ray Samson

I am a life long learner in which my chosen trade has never had me bored. Trained Power Engineers in all facets of boiler operation and loss prevention. Worked alongside Safety and Operations leaders during turn around as a Loss Prevention System advisor. Investigated Process and Personnel Safety incidents for learning and prevention. As a Production Day Supervisor I was responsible and accountable to budgets, component outages, isolation, work scope and supplying Operations personnel. Also a Shift Engineer for a large oil sands plant overseeing commodities, power production and sales, Environmental regulations adherence and reporting. After trying a stint of semi-retirement I have returned to my primary work interest which is commissioning and start up, presently at Suncor base plant having completed a CS & U of two large gas turbines and HRSGs presently in the midst of a post run maintenance turnaround.
